JOB SUMMARY: As scheduled, will provide technical support for theatrical performances and other special events and the Village at Ed Gould Plaza. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) Set-up and break down audio/visual equipment, props, and scenery, including hang and focus of theatrical lighting
2) Operate lighting and audio/visual equipment for theatrical performances, concerts and other special events
3) Follow security procedures with particularly with respect to safety, equipment, and access
4) Monitor condition of equipment and supplies, and report any problems or needs to Manager of Village Operations

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Other duties as assigned
2) Participate in staff meetings, special events and other activities as requested

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
1) Solid background in theatrical events, specifically relating to live theatre and special events for spaces ranging from small (49 seats) to medium (225) houses
2) Candidates should have full, complete working knowledge of light boards, stage lighting, and sound equipment for theatre, and be able to professionally and responsibly operate this type of equipment.
3) An Ops Tech should be familiar with running a show technically without a stage manager, and should be familiar with running and teching a show without a stage manager calling cues. S/he should be comfortable running a show after 1-2 technical rehearsals.
4) Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal and organizational skills are necessary and an ability to interact appropriately with visiting as well as on site technicians, theatrical producers, film operators and artists. 5) Demonstrated ability to work effectively with men and women of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment;

		<description>The College is seeking an Assistant Costume Shop Manager to assist in the day-to-day operation of a busy Costume Shop. The shop serves an active Dance Program, Theatre Department and provides wardrobe support for other performing arts events. Under the direction of the Costume Shop Manager the Assistant Manager's primary duties include construction of costumes from designers' renderings, assistance with measurements and fittings, maintaining and supervising use of costume stock and storage, help maintain equipment and supervision of the Costume Shop in Manager's absence. 

This is a full-time, nine-month, two year term position beginning August 28, 2008. The Shop operates from late August through late May. Typical work days may be 1pm to 9pm depending on production schedules, overtime will often be required. Work can be intensive, workweeks may vary, and are scheduled in coordination with the Costume Shop Manager.

Candidate must have experience in theatrical costume construction techniques, including patterning, draping, cutting, stitching, assembly and alteration. Dyeing, craft and wig experience are desirable, but not required. BFA/MFA in Costume Design or Technology and/or 3 years of full time professional or high-level academic shop work required. Position Summary:	
This is an "Audio/Lighting Technician" position responsible for Maintenance of all audio systems as well as installation of all special events technical needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
*Set up, operations and strike of all tech equipment
*Managing, organizing and maintaining all event technical equipment
*Lighting/Audio setup associated with events or pre opening of capital construction
*Learn, maintain and develop animatronic systems and controls
*Proper installation of equipment in professional, organized techniques
*Operation and quality control of nighttime events
*Cleanliness of the equipment storage rooms
*Maintenance of park audio systems
*And other related duties as assigned.

Skills needed:

*Effective communication skills
*Ability to complete projects in a reasonable time frame.
*Deal courteously and tactfully with employees, peers, superiors, and the general public
*Experience and knowledge with theatrical and club type lighting equipment, effect equipment including fog, snow and foam producing devices, sound equipment, stage craft and set dressing as well as the installation and troubleshooting and maintenance of the above mentioned. 
*Considerable Knowledge of occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions

Education/Experience:
*Graduation from high school or equivalent, 
*Require a minimum of three years experience in the stagecraft trades such as professional live/studio audio engineering and theatrical lighting. 
*Some or any equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Requirements
*Ability to work outdoors in temperature and humidity extremes
*Must be able to lift in excess of 50 lbs
*Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
